Here in the CITSU, we are feeling a bit romantical and stuff on the run up to Valentine’s day! So we decided to do a little piece on all things lovey-dovey!

We were delighted to land an interview with former Miss World, Ireland’s Top Model and all round stunner Rosanna Davison, to talk about some of her dating experiences and tips. Here is what she had to say: 

So Rosanna, valentines is approaching fast and love is in the air! What is the most romantic thing anyone has ever done for you?

“On our first Valentine's Day together, my boyfriend Wesley brought me on a surprise weekend trip to a beautiful country hotel. I'm not usually too pushed on romantic gestures but this one was so sweet, thoughtful and unexpected!”

Speaking of boyfriends, could you describe to us what your ideal man would be like?

“A good sense of humour is definitely high on my list and I've always looked for somebody kind, thoughtful and genuine. Looks aren't an especially high priority but I do think it's important to find your partner attractive, to have a spark. Trust and reliability are also important qualities. “

Have you ever had a disaster date? And if so, could you tell us about it?

“I honestly can't think of anything too disastrous - I've never had any blind dates which don't have the best reputation! I've been in two long-term relationships back to back since I was 18 so I don't have too many dating tales to tell.”

You got off lucky so, I could write a novel of bad dates I was on!  What kind of advice would you give to our strapping CIT lads if they were taking a girl out on a date?

“Be a gentleman.... women appreciate it when you hold the door open for them and offer to pay on the first date. Don't get pissed and make inappropriate sexual jokes!”

So true! Good old fashioned chivalry is always nice to come by! What about our lovely CIT ladies? Any tips for them when going on a date?

“Try to take an interest in what your date has to say, no matter how uninteresting. Don't show too much leg or cleavage on the first date, and avoid garlic!”
